This vineyard is located on a slope of clay limestone with three very different subsoils.
Soil
Foot of the slope: Here the subsoil is a mixture of gravel and yellow clay. This type of subsoil can be found along the length of the côte from Marsannay to Santenay and brings floral notes and finesse to the wine.
Mid-slope: Small round rocks and clay/limestone, a mixture that brings a round, rich quality to the wine.
High slope: Very hard white limestone which delivers a mineral note to the wine.
Tasting notes
Every vintage of this wine is unfailingly reliable thanks to the blending of these three very different subsoils. The well-defined minerality plus a hint of saltiness produce a dynamic which is both pleasant and refreshing.
Food pairing
The wine goes well with delicate starters and fresh-water fish.
Ageing
The wine should be drunk within 2 to 8 years after bottling.
