Chambolle-Musigny « Clos du Village » 2020

Chambolle-Musigny is a village located in the central part of the Côte de Nuits.  The vineyards are facing East/South-East.

SURFACE

Domaine GUYON holds 3.3 hectares 8.15 acres of CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY village.  CLOS DU VILLAGE is a 0.55-ha (1.36-acre) monopoly.

SOIL AND GRAPE VARIETY

Clay and limestone

100% Pinot Noir

HARVEST AND VINIFICATION

Hand-harvested, the grapes are then carried in small boxes and sorted out upon arrival at the winery.

Long fermentation during 20 days in wooden open vats, with punching down of the cap and temperature control.

AGEING

18 months in French oak barrels (1/3 new oak).

CHARACTER

Very nice ruby/purple colored wine with lovely aromas reminiscent of violets and perfumed red cherries.  Elegant, beautifully  concentrated, silk-textured, this wine may be kept for 10 years.

SERVICE

To be served at 16-17°C with roasted pigeon, duck with truffles and most cheeses.
